Photo Requirements for Glass Issues

To process your glass claim, please provide the following photos:

  • A full picture of the entire door taken from the inside.
  • A full picture of the entire door taken from the outside.
  • One or more close-up pictures of the specific glass issue(s).
  • Required: A clear picture of the date code located on the glass unit.
Glass Pane Date Code Location
Blind Track Date Code Location

Locating Your ODL Glass Date Code

There are two types of date codes to look for:

Glass Pane Date Code: A laser-etched marking with three lines - the top line will say "ODL." This is typically located in the bottom right corner of the glass unit, but may be in a different corner depending on how the pane was installed.

Blind Track Date Code: A single line starting with "ODL" located within the blind track area (always in upper left corner of the interior facing side).

Tips:

  • Use a flashlight to illuminate the glass at different angles for better visibility
  • The code may be faint and can be mistaken for the temper logo
  • For glass pane codes, check all corners if not found in the bottom right
  • Take a clear, close-up photo showing all text in the date code

Photo Requirements for Warped Doors

Before submitting photos: Consider checking if your door has our adjustable hinge plate system, as this feature can often resolve alignment issues. Please watch this video on how to adjust your hinges to see if this resolves the issue.

Claims for warped doors require specific photo documentation to be processed:

  • A full picture of the entire door taken from the inside.
  • A full picture of the entire door taken from the outside.
  • Level Test: Pictures showing a level placed on the door jamb to verify it is plumb and square.
  • String Test: Pictures showing a string test performed on the door slab itself to demonstrate the warp.
  • Please see this document for string and level test directions.
  • Closing Reveal: A picture that clearly shows the gap and alignment of the door when it is closed.
  • Door diagram showing closing reveal

Note: Sending a single photo of a level on the door is not sufficient. Please provide multiple pictures showing the tests clearly.
